What are you looking for?

The Accessible Embodiment Festival is now accepting submission for presenters. All presenters or content providers will be compensated for their time and involvement with the inaugural run. The base pay rate of the festival is $50 USD per hour paid to the providers when their content is submitted or 2 days before their presentation slot. Content providers will also have the opportunity to earn a portion of the tickets sold or to donate their portion of ticket sales to Vivacious Self to fund future virtual gatherings. Each presenter or content provider will be required to fill out and return their event contract by December 1, 2020.

The broad categories for presentation are:

  • Yoga - Chair yoga, Gentle Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Hatha Yoga, and Adaptive Flows will be given priority in the selection process. Classes must be a minimum of 45min long and a maximum of 75min long. Please include in your submission if you plan to have prop requirements for your class. It is safely assumed that any Chair Yoga classes will require a chair.

  • Movement - Moving Meditation practices, dance, T'ai chi ch'üan, Qigong, theater games, and motion emphasized classes will be given priority in the selection process. Classes must be a minimum of 45min long and a maximum of 75min long. Please include in your submission if you plan to have prop or spacial requirements for your class. Prerecorded performances may also be submitted for inclusion in the Festival. Recorded presentations must be a minimum of 3.5min long and a maximum of 60min long.

  • Art - Doodle classes, drawing, painting, led collage work classes are one style of class in this category. Classes must be a minimum of 45min long and a maximum of 90min long. Spoken word and readings (of authorized use only) are another presentation style in this category. Livestreaming or prerecorded presentations must be a minimum of 30min long and a maximum of 60min long.

  • Music - DJ sets, musical or vocal performances will be given priority in the selection process. Time slots and length of time will be negotiated on an artist by artist basis for this category of presentation.

You do not need to have your class fully formed to submit. Please select the option on the submission form that states that the class is "In Development" so that further communication can be arranged if your presentation is selected.

Other things to keep in mind:

  • "Live" classes will be done over the Zoom platform. You will be made a "Host" in the room for improved quality of screen or sound sharing. Class size is limited to 98 participants.

  • Prerecorded content will be offered over either Zoom or on the Vivacious Self Twitch channel depending on the content. Music presentations will be negotiated with each artisan to best meet the needs of those artists.

  • This will be a ticketed event. Price point is still being determined and all participating presenters will have the opportunity to influence the ticket prices.

  • Base pay rate of the festival is $50 USD per hour. This is provided by Vivacious Self. Ticket sale proceeds will be provided after the festival to all presenters who opt in to that payment selection.

  • You will be required to promote the event as part of being hired to participate.

  • Discounted and scholarship ticket price options will be available to attendees of the festival.
